PRIVACY POLICY

SHORT VERSION

We collect: your email at purchase, a hashed machine ID at activation, your computer's hostname for support.
We DON'T: track what sounds you make, what presets you load, what DAW you use, or how often you launch the plugin.
We DON'T: sell your data, share with advertisers, or use any analytics beyond what's strictly necessary.
1.  WHO WE ARE

Jack Nine Digital LLC ("we", "us", "Jack Nine Digital"), a California limited liability company, operates kernel-flux.com and publishes KERNEL FLUX under its KERNEL Audio brand.


2.  INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect three categories of information:

A.  PURCHASE INFORMATION
    When you buy KERNEL FLUX through Stripe, we receive:
      * Your email address (for delivering your license key)
      * Stripe's session ID for your purchase
      * The amount paid

    Stripe handles your payment card information directly — we never see it.

B.  ACTIVATION INFORMATION
    When the plugin starts a trial or activates a license, it sends:
      * A SHA-256 hash of your machine's network device identifiers (one-way hashed — we never see raw MAC addresses or hardware IDs)
      * Your computer's friendly hostname (e.g. "DESKTOP-ABC123" or "JoshLaptop")
      * The license key you entered (only at activation, not at trial)
      * The current date and time

    These records live in our database tied to your license so we can enforce the two-activation limit and so customer support can help when you contact us.

C.  SUPPORT CORRESPONDENCE
    If you email us, we keep your message and our reply for as long as needed to provide good service. We do not use these messages for marketing.


3.  HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information above to:

  * Deliver your license key after purchase;
  * Enforce the two-activation limit per license;
  * Help you when you contact support;
  * Comply with our legal obligations (tax, fraud prevention).

We do NOT use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to running KERNEL Audio.


4.  HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION

We share information ONLY with the following service providers, strictly to operate the service:

  * Stripe       — payment processing
  * Postmark     — transactional email (your license key)
  * Our VPS host — database storage

Each is bound by contract to use the data only to provide services to us, not for their own purposes.

We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.


5.  HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

  * License records: kept for as long as the license is active, plus 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
  * Activation records: kept alongside the license for the same period.
  * Trial records: kept for 90 days after trial expiration, then deleted.
  * Support email: kept for 3 years.


6.  YOUR RIGHTS

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, California, or another jurisdiction that grants you data-protection rights, you may:

  * Request a copy of the information we hold about you;
  * Request that we correct inaccurate information;
  * Request that we delete your information (subject to our legal retention obligations);
  * Object to processing in certain circumstances;
  * Withdraw consent at any time;
  * Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7.  SECURITY

  * Communication between the plugin and our server is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS).
  * Our database server is behind a firewall, with access limited to the application user.
  * Stripe handles all payment card data; we never receive or store it.

No system is perfectly secure. If we ever discover a breach that puts your data at risk, we will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by applicable law.


8.  CHILDREN

KERNEL FLUX is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.


9.  CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, when appropriate, notify existing users by email.
